The Center of Phlebology was created in 1999. Dr. Ivars Prudāns, dr. Uldis Mauriņš and then also dr. Ints Ūdris and dr. Pēteris Gerke started to perform classic vein surgeries and surgeries as per Varady method (miniphlebectomy) - with minimal 1-2 mm skin incisions.
A new era in global vein surgery started in 2001 when endovenous laser surgery was created. On year later Ints Ūdris, vascular surgeon-phlebologist performed the first endovenous laser surgery (US guided) in the Baltic States under supervision of German professor Thomas Proebstle, using Dornier Medtech medilas D (980nm) diode laser.
Due to significantly increased range of services and new high-quality devices added to technical equipment, including upgraded operating rooms, HC4 Center of Phlebology became Baltic Vein Clinic in 2010. It started working in its new capacity in large and well-furnished premises at 115 K. Barona Street, Riga.
HC4 Baltic Vein Clinic is the only clinic in Latvia and in the Baltic States offering all leading technologies together in one place. HC4 offers classic vein surgeries as per Varady method (miniphlebectomy), laser surgeries, and other vein treatment methods, using radiofrequency surgery (EVLT and RFO), steam microimpulses, bioglue, etc.
